Its easy to send money to loved ones. Quick effective and most of all no transaction fee. Great customer service. Love it!
Some bad moments
If you read the fine print it specifies the below. Cash advance is charged interest on daily basis until you pay off your full credit card. Unless this is coming from a bank account this service is expensive.
5.3 You may be subject to fees (including a cash advance fee) under your agreement with the bank or other financial institution that issues your debit card when you use such a card for a remittance payment. You should review your card agreement regarding such potential fees.
I sent money and unfortunately the number had been reissued to someone else. The money was blocked and I have been trying everything to get it rerouted or refunded. The customer service is crap, three days and everyone asks the same questions with no resolution.
Prior to sendwave, i sent $ to uganda through Western Union, whose process and fees i hate. And ive also mailed an atm card which got lost in the mail twice.
And ive sent wires @ $45 each.
Sendwave, according to my calculation, takes approx 2.2%. This is less than paypal charges to process a debit card payment in the U.S. Very reasonable. I may still send a bank wire for amounts over $3k, but under that this app saves me a lot of money.
The app interface is super clean, simple, and easy to use. I got a personal email from the CEO welcoming to the app and giving me his contact into incase i had any questions, so i suspect customer service to be good despite the claims of a few reviews i saw. My only issue using this program arose when i thought the recipient also needed to DL the app. But thats not the case. You just need the recipients ph # to send them $.
My charity will soon start using it to send our money to uganda.
You got it! they just need to expand their biz to tz and ug probably South Africa and market it more aggressively.

A friend recommended it, and skeptical me looked you up before I signed up. Signed up in a minute, entered recipient, and in the next minute got confirmation email the payment had been sent. A minute later, the happy recipient called me to confirm. 2 minutes later I blasted a message to all my contacts. Too good to keep to myself.

Wave is absolutely the best way there is to send money to Kenya! Very secure, competitive exchange rates, instant delivery to M-Pesa, ok to send small and big amounts even to very remote areas to Kenya , and my best: ZERO sending fees :-) What more could anyone possibly ask for? No more Western Union, Moneygram or anything else for me. Asante sana!
